Our story
Amalthia Farm was born from the vision of Dimitris Minopoulos, an agronomist-technologist from Florina. After studying at the School of Agricultural Technology and specialising in goat farming at Haus Riswick in Germany, he returned to Greece with a bold goal: to transform goat farming into a model of quality, innovation, and respect for nature.
What began in 1989 on the slopes of Prophet Elias in Ano Kalliniki, Florina has grown into one of Greece’s most pioneering farms, recognised for its dedication to animal welfare, sustainability, and excellence in dairy production.
The values we live by
At Amalthia, we believe great milk starts with great care for our animals, our land and the people who trust us. That’s why we raise our goats in pioneering housing designed for comfort and hygiene, grow our own feed on our farmland and have always led the way in sustainable packaging. These values are reflected in the way we farm and the results we achieve every day.
Where tradition meets innovation
Beyond farming, Amalthia is equipped with a processing and bottling unit for fresh goat’s milk, as well as facilities for yogurt and cheese-making. In 2010, we became the first in Europe to bottle milk in biodegradable PLA packaging made from corn, an innovation recognised by Bioplastics Magazine and presented at the Munich Conference on Biodegradable Packaging Materials. Today, we continue this commitment to sustainability by bottling in recyclable PET, ensuring that freshness and quality go hand in hand with environmental responsibility.
Our farm and facilities
On the slopes of Florina in northern Greece, Amalthia combines modern infrastructure with responsible farming. From advanced housing and milking systems to open pastures and carefully grown feed, every element is designed to ensure healthy animals and the highest-quality milk.
